“Bring back school furniture”: Young Parents Association

“If you know that you have chairs and tables that belong to the department of education we urge you to avail them on the day of the campaign."

SEBOKENG.- The Young Parents Association of School Governing Bodies (YPASGB) and the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) are embarking on a program to reclaim school property.

YPASGB said that learners are short of school furniture because of people who have decided to ‘lend’ themselves the furniture, tables, seats, etc.

“It is heartening to witness learners having to leave their homes early in the morning just to secure a place to sit because of a shortage at their schools.”

The organizations will this weekend be going door to door to request the members of the community who have the furniture to hand it back to its rightful owners.

Community members who have the furniture are requested to hand it in at Pitseng Primary School in Zone 10 Extension 1, Sebokeng on Sunday, 12 March from 11:00.
