SEBOKENG – Three suspects are behind bars after they were arrested in the early hours of Thursday, April 6 for kidnapping Somalian nationals.
According to local authorities, an Intelligence driven operation led Gauteng police to a house in Zone 12, Sebokeng where the duo was rescued.

According to Minister of Police Bheki Cele, the abducted pair went missing for three weeks and a ransom of R8 million was demanded from the family.
Since then, the family had not been able to pay the ransom, however, police managed to rescue the missing pair unharmed.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster on the sidelines of the CIT scene in Golden Gardens this morning, Cele said “Sebokeng has given us a good morning as South African police. Three months ago, there were two boys that were kidnapped and the demand was eight million. Those boys were found this morning in Sebokeng unharmed and reunited with their families”.
“We have managed to arrest three people from the house where the boys were rescued and we found a firearm and ammunition during the arrest and rescue. We also found stolen tower batteries in the house,” said Cele.

Cele was flanked by the Deputy National Commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, Deputy Provincial Commissioner Major General Mthombeni, and other senior management of police including Sedibeng Cluster Acting Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu during his visit to the Vaal.
