SEDIBENG.- Local boys, Ayabulela Gxidi and Siyabulela Mpinda are among the players that have been chosen to represent South Africa in the Super World Cup Netball scheduled to take place in Australia from 8-21 August.
These two are some of the boys that play the sport that has always been seen as a female sport (netball). The two have been playing action netball at Vanderbijlpark Sports Arena for the under-19 Mix Team. They were selected when Vanderbijlpark Sports Arena participated in the junior league Inter Provincial Tournament Action Netball that took place at Edenvale Action Sports Arena on 3-8 April.

This is where they impressed the selectors during the trials for the team that is going to represent South Africa in Australia, thanks to Coach Tanya Van Niekerk and Coach Marshare Pienaar for a job well done.
Gxidi plays for Tsoelopele Netball Club while Mpinda was more into soccer under DLSA and he was introduced to netball last year when there were social games at Vanderbijlpark Sports Arena where he was playing with his sibling and friends.
Meanwhile, for the pairs’ dream to come true, they must raise an amount of R65 000 each, the cost includes the flight, accommodation, and playing attire among other things. Should anyone wish to sponsor or contribute something for the two players, they can deposit the money in this account:
