‘Don’t Do Crime’ Tournament Top Four

"This is what we want to see happening throughout Sedibeng at the weekends."

SEBOKENG.- Four local teams will be battling in the one-day spectacular when they compete in the ‘Don’t Crime’ Top Four Tournament scheduled to take place at UK sports grounds in Sebokeng on Saturday.

This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Themba Zwelibanzi who told said that these games are an ongoing process to deal with the crime in the community. Not long ago, Zwelinbazi hosted a successful ‘Don’t Crime’ Tournament and he believes these games are important to keep young people occupied and away from crime and other illegal activities.

“These games play an important role in our communities since we started with young and old coming in numbers to spend their weekend at the sports grounds. I have no doubt that these games will spread all over the Sedibeng area in an attempt to fight crime within our communities.”

Zwelibanzi said that the aim of these games is not necessarily about winning or which teams have been crowned the champions at the end of the tournament, but that it is about fighting crime through sports, especially football because football is all about mass participation.

“For example, go to any community you will find soccer grounds compared to other sporting activities in our townships. This is a fact, most of the young people are involved in football compared to other sporting codes,” said Zwelibanzi.

Meanwhile, Zwelibanzi said they will organize another ‘Don’t Do Crime’ Top 8 to take place at Double Action ground in Evaton from 27-30 April.
