Metrorail resumes train services in Vereeniging

During his recent visit to Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM), Deputy President Paul Mashatile said this mode of transportation was an important part of the Intermodal system.

VEREENIGING. – Metrorail recently announced the resumption of train services in Vereeniging starting on Monday 17 April.

In the announcement, Metrorail said the damaged train at Vereeniging station had been replaced and publicized various stopping stations including Redan, Kookrus, Meyerton, Henley on Klip, Daleside, Kliprivier, and more.

During his recent visit to Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM), Deputy President Paul Mashatile said this mode of transportation was an important part of the Intermodal system.

“People will be able to get off the train and get on the taxi to their respective destinations,” he said.

Mashatile stated that the intermodal system was the best way in ensuring efficient public transport.

In addition to the train station, the facility will incorporate retail space, long-distance buses, and taxis.
