SEDIBENG.- Pitso Mosimane has tasked former Bafana Bafana dreadlocked midfielder Augustine Makalakalane with the responsibility to identify women who are interested in coaching.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Makalakalane revealed that Mosimane has asked him to scout women who are interested in coaching. For starters, Makalakalane is one of the former ex-professional players who are part of this former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane football project. This will be the first project of its kind to empower women in coaching, thanks to the visionary Mosimane.

Apart from being involved with Mosimane’s football project, Makalakalane is also a SAFA Coaches Instructor conducting coaching courses for SAFA coaches. He is one of the few ex-professional players who have been active since he retired from top-flight football.
His football knowledge is the reason why Pitso Mosimane roped him in to be part of his football project, especially his coaching expectations.
“Coach Pitso has asked me to identify women who are interested in coaching. He believes there is a serious need to empower more women in coaching and I fully agree with him on this one. I’m up to the task to identify those young women who are interested in coaching to undergo proper coaching courses. I encourage all the women who are interested to further their coaching knowledge to come forward,” said Makalakalane.
