VEREENIGING. – 32-year-old qualified Dance Fitness instructor Poppy Matjeke held a successful instalment of the ‘Dance Fitness in Heels’ with Poppy. The event was held at the Danceit Studios at the Riversquare Shopping Mall in Three Rivers on Saturday, 6 May.
The event was a hit with many of the participants on the day calling it a confidence booster. Speaking to Ster North, Matjeke said this is something she has always wanted to do as she is all about girl power.
“I joined the fitness world at a very young age. I have worked at many prominent gyms and that is how I fell in love with dance fitness.
I saw how it gives women confidence.”
Matjeke, who has also been involved in teaching young girls, says it is vital for people to love themselves and their bodies.
“I want women of all sizes and shapes to appreciate their bodies the way they are.
“Most times we seek approval from people, forgetting that we are born beautiful and unique. It took God for me to realize that I am enough. I know that self-acknowledgment is important. Women are feeling depressed. This is why I organized this event. To give women a chance to fall in love with their bodies again.”
Matjeke says this type of exercise makes women have a lot of fun while getting in shape. “I urge women to watch the space as I will be organizing more of these events,” she concludes.
Matjeke thanks her sponsors Danceit Studios SA, CIAGOL SA, Molly Chenn Beauty Affair, G-man Nutrition, Nostalgic Designs and The PaintPolish Hub.
