SEDIBENG.- The DStv Premiership League for the 2022/2023 soccer season came to an end with Marumo Gallants being relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
This was after they suffered a 2-0 to Swallows on Saturday. The games were played simultaneously with Maritzburg United watching from the comfort of their home to see which direction the wind blew after they completed their season in midweek against Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, United has since taken the matter into the boardroom to overturn the PSL’s decision to force them to play their league match against Sundowns ahead of other teams especially those whom they were fighting relegation with.
Before, Saturday’s games, Maritzburg United was fighting relegations with Chippa United who have since survived the chop, and Marumo Gallants who have since been relegated to the lower division. It was a double blow for Marumo Gallants after they were knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup Semi-Finals by Young Africans from Tanzania on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates finished the season second on the log after they beat Amazulu 4-0 while Kaizer Chiefs suffered another defeat at the hand of Cape Town City to add to their disappointing season.
