Race for sanitary towels

The main aim of the event is to raise and donate sanitary towels to the needy, especially girl children in the community.

SEDIBENG.- Kasi Athletics Club will host a 5k Colour Run and 40km Cycling with the main aim being to raise sanitary towels in Bophelong on 11 June.

This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Nkosinathi Nolusu who pleaded with the Bophelong community to support this initiative. Nolusu said there will be a drop box available at Ola’s Markert to donate sanitary towels prior to/and on the day of the event. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Nolusu said the main aim of the event is to raise and donate sanitary towels to the needy, especially girl children in the community.

He said this event is supported and sponsored by Ola’s Market, Pick n Pay, and the Gauteng Department Of Sports among other stakeholders.

“We invite the Bophelong community to come in big numbers to support this initiative. We also appeal to the businesses and companies to come on board to make this event a huge success. We want to raise as many sanitary towels as we can because we want many girl children in our community to benefit from this project. We will donate these sanitary towels to one of Bophelong’s schools because we are aware that most of the girlchildren learners come from poor of poorest communities.

This event will kick start at Ola’s Shisanyama at 8:00.
