SEBOKENG – Patience, passion, and the love of something are sometimes all that you need and nothing else!
This has become true for Moyeni ‘Shiwa/Schneider/Spalaza’ Mbatha who is a big football fan and Vaal’s ‘Football Ambassador’. This number one Celta Vigo Development Team supporter from Zone 3/Evaton is currently showing his support for two teams from the Vaal that are playing in the Dstv ‘Kasi Champ of Champs Tournament’, namely Covid from Zone 7, Sebokeng and Sweet Water from Orange Farms.

This is where, for showing his passion and support, he is said to have been invited for a live interview by DStv’s ‘Ekasi Show’ next Monday where he will talk about his love and passion for the game. The unemployed, football fans’ crowd puller, told Sedibeng Ster that he has been a football supporter from a very young age and that his first love is Zone 3’s, Celta Vigo.
The club has ties with its Spain namesake.

Mbatha takes his nicknames, ‘Splaza’ and ‘Schneider’ from some of the best footballers locally and internationally. An example is that of Wesley Sneijder, a Dutch retired professional footballer who was considered one of the best midfielders in the world during his prime.
On the other hand, Mbatha attends all of the major football tournaments in the Vaal with the little that he makes as a hawker selling snacks and cigarettes for a living, all in the name of loving football. He is popular at tournaments such as the Pooe, the Makgotamisha, the Fairmont, and the Mabusmaneng tournaments.

“I am a fan of the game, locally my first love is Celta Vigo, but I love football in general. I would like to thank DStv for the opportunity of talking about my love for the game. I love football, I am a son of football. I tell them (the fans) that here in Vaal we are passionate about the game. We follow the rules of the game to the letter, and there must never be unruliness at games, it is all about the love of the game.”
With a little bit of help and donations, Mbatha can do more to continue representing the Vaal with pride, and for now, he can be reached at 069 388 8959.
