SEBOKENG – Before one ever commits to competing in a beauty pageant, knowing a little of everything is a must-do.
And this is made possible by the organizers of the Miss Thetha FM to dozens of its contestants before the looming much-anticipated finale in October.
According to Tycoon Black’s founder, exposing the thirty young ladies to an unfamiliar world helps prepare them for the number one spot.
Over the weekend, Saturday, June 24, dozens of sizzling and vibrant young Miss Thetha competitors gathered at Bee Gee in Sebokeng for a meet and greet during a Soul and RNB session.
Relatives to the contestants, the public, and die-hard fans came to pay support to their favorite models.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Fashion mogul and businessman, Mpho ‘Lazzy’ Maputsoe shared the experience and explained why the need for a series of events prior to the main pageant.
“Since the roadshow to the Miss Thetha FM has commenced, we have been exposing these young ladies to different aspects, worlds, and fields including business, self-nurturing, and now a fundraising event. The aim is to prepare them for the journey ahead, while we empower them with experience and skill sets in every aspect of life. Be it business, philanthropy work, or any field they endeavor,” he said.
Maputsoe said more events will be organized for the contestants to expose them to life skills.
“We have a planned Mandela Day event coming very soon, women in heels marathon, and a boot camp before the knockout stage and the finale. We want to ensure that this pageant grooms our young sisters and leaves them with certainly acquired knowledge even if they don’t make it to the final round,” he said.
The Miss Thetha FM pageant is a competition aimed at finding a face, and ambassador for the community radio station.
