Again…no ABC Motsepe team for Sedibeng

The University of Johannesburg and Mike One Stars FC are the two teams that were promoted to the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League.

SEDIBENG.- Sedibeng will not have a representative in the ABC Motsepe League as Real Hearts FC’s attempt failed.

Real Hearts represented Sedibeng at the Gauteng Inter Play-offs that came to an end over the weekend at JW Clement Stadium, Reiger Park in Johannesburg. Real Hearts FC came into this weekend’s fixtures under pressure to win both of their games but it was not to be. The University of Johannesburg and Mike One Stars FC are the two teams that were promoted to the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League.

This means Sedibeng region will be without the ABC Motsepe League team again for another season after Real Hearts FC’s attempt failed. Real Hearts FC represented Sedibeng Region in this Gauteng Inter Play-offs after they were crowned the Safa Sedibeng SAB League overall champions.

Safa Sedibeng President, Solly Mkhabela, prior to the Play-offs, was optimistic that finally, Sedibeng will have a team in the ABC Motsepe League but this was not to be.  Mkhabela had faith that Real Hearts FC would make Sedibeng proud in this Inter Provincial Play-offs which came to an end over the weekend.

He had said that it would be great for Sedibeng to have a representative in the ABC Motsepe League for the development of football in this region.

“There is a serious need to have a team that will represent Sedibeng in the ABC Motsepe League. This was long overdue and as Safa Sedibeng Region, we will rally behind Real Hearts FC. We will give them all the support they need because they are there to represent us,” this was Mkhabela’s words ahead of this Inter Provincial Play-offs.
