SEDIBENG.- The African National Congress ANC) in Gauteng has applauded the Gauteng Provincial Government for having received unqualified audit opinions across all Departments and entities.

The party said that prides itself in building a government that is performance-driven, ethical, and accountable evidenced by our Economic Recovery efforts and provision of quality service delivery, in line with its transformational and developmental agenda.

“The unqualified audit opinion is an indication of the ANC-led Gauteng Provincial Government’s commitment to strengthening financial management to eliminate wasteful and unlawful usage of public funds, a clear positive trajectory toward improved service delivery, and the responsible allocation of resources to address the needs of the residents of Gauteng.”

It further added that the improvement in the audit outcomes underscores the ANC-led Gauteng Provincial
Government’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of governance and financial management ensures that the residents of Gauteng in all corridors have decent livelihoods.

“The African National Congress in Gauteng further applauds the ANC-led Gauteng Provincial Government for having enforced a culture of consequence management from the heads of the various departments as accounting officers cascaded down to senior and junior management teams and all officials without discrimination,” the party said.

It further congratulated the Premier of Gauteng, Panyaza Lesufi, and his team of MECs on what it said was an outstanding performance, financial prudence, and commitment to the people of Gauteng.
