Khanye De Katarist releases new music

This young guitar sensation is truly a legend in the making.

ORANGE FARM. – Born Khanyile Junior Mlenzana, Khanye De Katarist has released fresh visuals for his single track titled ‘Link Road Drive ‘.

The song is produced by “El Maestro the Punisher” and the visuals are shot and edited by Black Mode Production. The rising star has been consistent in his craft of using the guitar as an instrument to communicate with the world through his music. He continues to amaze his audience with his talent.

Khanye De Katarist said that ‘Link Road Drive’ is a long street that goes through Orange Farm and that something came to him to make a song about it.

“Everyone who’s been in Orange Farm has been on Link Road weather you going to the mall, clinic, or train station you have to use Link Road. So, the road contains a lot of childhood memories for some of us.”

Khanye De Guitarist is a music teacher, writer as well as an entertainer who was taught to strum his first cords by Vusi Nkadimeng who was his church band member, and he later moved to Afro Jazz influenced by Kataki Thoka.

At the age of 15, he started going to Johannesburg with his friend and fellow guitarist, Sifiso ‘Jazzman’ Mabizela where they would do cover songs for their favourite artists. The pair got attention and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the late Hugh Masekela, Salif Keita, and Themba Mokoena, amongst others.

In 2013 he joined a local band called ‘Shef and the Kitchen’ founded by Siphiwe Hlope. The group released their debut album called ‘The First Recipe’ produced by Nigerian great, Kunle Ayo and South African artist Kabomo.

His upcoming project November will be to release his last music video for 2023 featuring Dj Vusinator. This young guitar sensation is truly a legend in the making.
