Vaal Echoes of Love Elderly Home left roofless after storms

This incident shocked the elderly people because of their age.

SHARPEVILLE.- Vaal Echoes of Love Elderly Home was left roofless after heavy rains last Thursday night.

These unexpected heavy rains left many families homeless with trees falling on top of the houses in other areas in Sedibeng.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Vaal Echoe of Love Administrator, Lindiwe Mokoena, said that the strong winds left the whole office block roofless. Mokoena said that even though no one was injured they had to move the elderly people to other rooms that were not affected.

Not long ago Vaal Echoes of Love hosted a successful Charity Jazz Festival to raise funds for this non-profit organization. Mokoena said this incident shocked the elderly people because of their age.

“The good thing is that no one was injured but the elderly people are still traumatised by this incident. However, we are trying our best to give them some counseling and I do not doubt that they will be well soon. To be honest, no one expected this and it came as a shock. There was this big tree and it fell but fortunately, it was far from the building,” she concluded.
