Child hospitalised after near-drowning incident

A 5-year-old child is in a serious condition after a near-drowning incident.

MEYERTON. – A five-year-old child was hospitalised following a near-drowning incident at Kliprivier Caravan Park, Meyerton. The incident happened on Saturday, December 30.

Cert SA reports: “Our Vaal crew received a call pertaining a child that had possibly drowned. On arrival, we found a five-year-old child lying outside the pool.

“We assessed the child and found that she had not drowned but was in a serious condition. We stabilised the patient on the scene. She was subsequently rushed to hospital.”

Cert SA thanked the Midvaal Fire Department and ER24 EMS (Pty) Ltd for their assistance on the scene.
