SEBOKENG. – In the heart of the Vaal, a new chapter in education is unfolding with the recent launch of Boitumelo Tutorial Hub.
Based in Evaton and founded by Lehlohonolo Mokoena the Boitumelo Tutorial Hub was born from the vision to provide a space where young people could acquire valuable skills and knowledge to navigate the challenges of post-matric life.
After being defunded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) while studying for a BA in Public Governance at North-West University, Mokoena said that he faced the daunting task of finding alternative funding in the face of a high unemployment rate, he, therefore, saw a need within the Vaal education sector, recognising a gap that begged to be filled.

“I worked at several organisations dedicated to youth skills development, but I noticed a recurring issue – a lack of effective processes in running educational programs. This sparked a deep reflection on my approach and fueled by a passion to empower young minds, I then decided to take matters into my own hands.”
Mokoena said that Boitumelo Tutorial Hub is not just an educational institution but that it is a response to the “pressing need” for accessible and effective education.
” Boitumelo Tutorial Hub is a beacon of hope, and with the community’s support, we are confident that we can overcome any obstacle. As Boitumelo Tutorial Hub takes its first steps, I extend a humble plea to the community that we are open to receiving any form of support – be it stationery, funds, or any contribution that will help us provide quality education to those who need it,” Mokoena said.
