EVATON.- On Saturday, twelve netball teams participated in the Vaal Stars Netball Club Fundraising Tournament held at Imfundo Primary School netball courts.
It was a great day of netball tournament with both boys and girls competing against each other, even the heavy rain didn’t stop the games. It was action galore throughout the day from the morning until the afternoon. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the tournament organiser, Lebohang Mphuthi hailed the tournament as a great success.
He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he was overwhelmed by the teams’ positive response to honour the tournament.
The tournament was divided into two categories, u/15 and u/19.
The teams that participated in this tournament were Girls Squad Netball Club, Orange Farm United Netball Club, Avalon Netball Club, Vaal Stars Netball Club, Seven Stars Netball Club, and Tsoelopele Netball Club with each team being in two divisions (u/15 and u/19).
Tsoelopele Netball Club from Zone 7, Sebokeng was crowned the tournament champions in the u/19 category with the tournament host Vaal Stars finished second place. In the u/15 category, Orange Farms Netball Club was crowned the champions while Tsoelopele Netball Club finished second.
“I want to thank the club for honouring our invitation and making this tournament a great success. I also want to thank those who sponsored the tournament with water and prices. As Vaal Stars Netball Club we say thank you for your contribution,” said Mphuthi.
