Midvaal attains 10th consecutive clean audit

Midvaal Local Municipality's Executive Mayor, Peter Teixeria welcomed the audit outcome for the 2022/2023 financial year.

MEYERTON. – The Midvaal Local Municipality has once again proven to be a bastion of good governance after attaining its 10th unqualified opinion audit outcome for the 2022/2023 financial year.

The official announcement of the audit outcome was made by the office of the Auditor-General (AG) during a Special Council meeting held on 29 January 2024.

The municipality underwent auditing of its financial statements performance management, internal controls, and compliance efficiency.
The AG confirmed that the municipality provided valid financial records with no material findings or misrepresentations.

Midvaal Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor, Peter Teixeria welcomed the audit outcome for the 2022/2023 financial year.

“Our administration will continue to work hard and ensure that the clean audits find expression in tangible service delivery, such as the improvement of infrastructure, investment into safety, and the upliftment of our people in Midvaal.“

Teixeira further reiterated that clean audits mean nothing if the people of Midvaal cannot touch, feel, see, and reap the benefits of a well-run municipality.

“Midvaal’s vision is rooted in being a well-governed, effectively managed, financially viable, and sustainable organisation. The municipality is actively working to ensure that the streak of clean audits continues to translate into service excellence.”

Midvaal states that its efforts are directed towards attracting investment to foster local economic growth and create opportunities for all.
