SASOLBURG. – She has won many hearts before in different competitions and pageants, coming home
with dozens of trophies and donating her prices to the less fortunate.
Matshepo Kompe has now been nominated for the semifinals of the Face of Queens South Africa with
Purpose 2024.
Queens with Purpose is a non-profit organisation that focuses on encouraging community upliftment.
This organisation hosts events such as Fun runs and women empowerment pageants to change and support centres that cater to children and persons living with disabilities.
Being chosen to be among scores of participants, Kompe says winning the competition will help overcome her dream, extending a helping hand.
Speaking to Ster South, Kompe explained how she was selected and what was expected from her to win the
pageant.
“As a semi-finalist, one is required to raise an amount of R 5 000 sponsorship fee which will be used to cover
the production, logistics, contestant photoshoots, and pageant sustainability during the stages of the
competition,” she said.
Putting her love to assist those in need as part of the requirements for the competition, Kompe said
she has started with her duties, rendering help at a Sasolburg-based disability home.
“I have assisted people in need before, but being exposed to helping people who are differently abled,
has introduced me into a world I never imagined. I am slowly learning and understanding how to work
with people with disability. It takes a person with a huge hurt to practice patience with the differently abled
individuals,” she said.
“My heart has led me in a different direction and winning this competition will warm my heart because I
would offer more than what I can to the disabled,” she said.
Explaining her emotions on being part of the pageant, Kompe said she is overjoyed.
“I’m very excited to be nominated and I am willing to work towards getting to the finals of the competition.
I am one individual who loves giving back, the competition has exposed me to precisely what I needed,”
she said.
Voting lines for Kompe are still open, the public needs to donate as little as R20 for (4
votes), R50 (10 votes), R100 (40 votes), R200 (80 votes), and R500 (150 votes).
