Shef and the Kitchen dishes next recipe

Shef's kitchen continues to deliver delicate dishes of nothing but well cooked music.

VANDERBIJLPARK – He is no ordinary chef, dishing no ordinary dishes.

Siphiwe ‘Shef’ Hlophe is a musical chef cooking something truly special as he launches an 11-track masterpiece that promises to leave listeners wanting second plates.

The dynamic lead singer and founder of Shef and the Kitchen has announced the band’s second studio album, The Next Recipe, was dropped on October 25, on all digital platforms. According to Shef Hlophe, the sizzling new project is a heartfelt celebration dedicated to the world’s mothers, crafted with love right in the heart of Orange
Farm.

Produced by Lucky ‘Master Lugz’ Shabangu and written by Shef himself, the album offers a fresh batch of songs.
But The Next Recipe goes beyond just a dedication to mothers.

It’s also an honest reflection on the challenges young people face growing up in the township.

To kick-off the album’s release, Shef and the Kitchen will be holding a launch event on November 2 at Gallery South in Muizenberg, Cape Town.

The event promises to be nothing short of spectacular, with live performances that will transport the audience from Cape Town to the heart of Orange Farm.

Speaking to Ster, Hlophe said, “This album is dedicated to all the mothers who raised us and shaped us into who we are today. It’s our way of saying thank you.”

Since its formation in 2011, Shef and the Kitchen have been dishing out powerful performances that blend African Pop, Soul, and Funk with a touch of township magic.

With original lyrics in isiZulu, Xitsonga, and English, the band serves up a vibrant sound that reflects the rhythm of South Africa.

Behind Shef’s charismatic leadership and the band’s electrifying live shows lies a deep-rooted mission: to represent Orange Farm and tell stories that inspire and uplift.

Shef, an artist, art practitioner, project manager, and event organiser, has led the band to stages across Africa and the world, cooking up musical magic that transcends borders.

Their 2020 world tour took them to India, where they built a dedicated fanbase and drew inspiration for their latest project.
