Matebula’s journey to popularity started when various patients posted messages of appreciation to her on various platforms, thanking her for the great service she provided.
Dieketseng Skelem said: “I am a patient at the Albertina Sisulu Clinic and it is not the first time I come to the clinic. Your treatment is out of this world. You work extremely hard and take good care of your patients. If no one has ever told you, I’m telling you today. I hope God blesses you, I love your heart and your patience. Please take your flowers while you can still smell them.”
Speaking to Matebula, she said her love for helping people is the one thing that pushes her to wake up and go to work every morning.
“There are so many things that people go through and the last thing they need is to get bad treatment from the people they expect help from. I’m very passionate about my job and it comes through in the way I treat people.”
Following the award, Mathebula thanked the public, her colleagues, and management for their unwavering support.
“I feel deeply humbled and blessed for this recognition. I never thought that doing my job would get me such recognition. I am truly grateful.”
Clinic Manager Paulina Mzizi congratulated Matebula on her achievement.
