Sasol hands over refurbished road

“ Sasol and Natref aim to be a catalyst for positive socio-economic change, driving shared value creation to society. This is why we invest in initiatives that enhance economic participation, contributing to growth and improving quality of life within our operating geographies and fence lines,” said Gcabashe.

SASOLBURG – Sasol officially opened and handed over the newly upgraded Carl Bosch Road in Sasolburg on February 12 as a way of making road safety a priority for motorists and pedestrians.

During the launch, the Senior Vice President of Sasol, Natref, and Ekandustria Operations, Ntokozo Gcabashe, was
joined by the executive mayor of the Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Jack Malindi, as well as the acting mayor of Fezile Dabi, Stone Makhema, and Metsimaholo’s municipal manager Basi Motloung.

According to Sasol, one of the challenges encountered by the construction team was that they found no
imported layer works prepared for the road when it was originally built.

It is again believed that stormwater was the major cause of damage to the road, and for that reason,
drains were excavated, cleaned, and repaired, while the stormwater channel was excavated below the
water piping to improve the directional flow of the stormwater.

“ Sasol and Natref aim to be a catalyst for positive socio-economic change, driving shared value
creation to society. This is why we invest in initiatives that enhance economic participation, contributing
to growth and improving quality of life within our operating geographies and fence lines,” said Gcabashe.
