BOIPATONG – Police in Boipatong are investigating an inquest docket following a gruesome discovery on November 7.

This comes after the lifeless body of Siyabonga Phaka was discovered on the old dumping site. According to Boipatong police spokesperson, Constable Selina Mthimkulu, at about 06:45, their officers received a complaint of a dead person at the old dumping place near Cape Gate.

“Our officers found an African male lying on his stomach, motionless. The EMS personnel were called to the scene, and later certified Phaka dead,” she said.

“Following our investigation, the deceased was later identified as Siyabonga Phaka, who resides in the Smarties area, around Boipatong,” she added.

Mthimkulu said the deceased was taken to Sebokeng mortuary. “An inquest docket is under investigation to determine the cause of death,” she said.
