Midvaal installs over 100 streetlights in Savanna City

A brighter Savanna City is taking shape as Midvaal rolls out new infrastructure aimed at boosting visibility, safety and peace of mind for residents.

The Midvaal Local Municipality has completed the installation of 112 streetlights in Savanna City.

According to a press statement issued on behalf of the Executive Mayor, Alderman Peter Teixeira, this project is aimed at strengthening efforts to improve safety and service delivery in the area.

The project, which commenced in October 2025, was completed at a cost of R1 million.

The area will now have improved lighting to ensure visibility at night and help deter criminal activity often conducted under the cover of darkness.

Midvaal says the initiative forms part of the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to creating safer communities and delivering infrastructure that improves the daily lives of residents.
