Gauteng e-Gov hosts second Hackathon Series in Sedibeng
The Gauteng Department of e-Government is inviting young people from Sedibeng and surrounding areas to participate in the second Youth Tech Expo G13 Hackathon Series on 11 and 12 June.
The Gauteng Department of e-Government is calling all young people from within and around the Sedibeng District to take part in the second Hackathon Series on June 11 and 12.
MEC for e-Government, Bonginkosi Dhlamini, says the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to investing in youth and creating opportunities for innovation and digital skills development.
Dlamini states that Gauteng youth possess the creativity, talent, and technological capability to develop solutions that can transform communities and improve government service delivery.
“Through the Youth Tech Expo G13 Hackathon Series, we are creating a platform for young innovators to showcase their skills, collaborate with industry leaders, and contribute meaningfully to the digital future of our province,” said MEC Dhlamini.
The overnight innovation challenge will bring young people, government, industry partners, and technology stakeholders together to find technology-driven solutions for community development and improved service delivery.
This initiative forms part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s commitment to youth empowerment, digital transformation, and innovation-led governance under the G13 priorities of the 7th Administration.
The Hackathon Series has been rolled out across all five corridors of Gauteng. The event takes place at 57 Gamdor Street, Small Farms, at 09:00.
