Five suspects arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper cables
They will appear in Vanderbijlpark Court soon.

SEDIBENG. – The Sedibeng Police arrested five suspects for being on possession of suspected stolen property on Monday.
Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said that SAPS members from the Sedibeng DOCC , The Barrage members and Evaton crime prevention received information on Monday at about 10:20 members from the operational group chats about a black Audi A3 that was transporting stolen copper cables driving on Golden Highway direction towards Vanderbijlpark.

The members then patrolled Vanderbijlpark area on all possible scrapyards and spotted the vehicle on the Golden Highway and Daimler Street NW7, in Vanderbijlpark.
Mohlakoana said that they then approached the vehicle and all five suspects were searched and the vehicle searched as well.
“ In the boot they found small pieces of copper cable that were left laying inside , they also found a payment slip from the recycling company nearby with that day’s date . The suspects were taken to that scrapyard and they were identified by an employee there and the copper cable that was sold to the scrapyard by the suspects which amounted to undisclosed amount of money was handed over. The footage showed all five suspects to be the ones who brought that cable to that scrapyard,” Mohlakoana said.
All suspects were then detained and further investigations will be conducted.
