Residents pack up and leave but ‘forget’ their dogs
How do you move and leave your animals behind?
Abandoned dogs were found in three houses in the outskirts of the Vaal after their owners moved house without them.
According to SPCA Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark the residents had packed up and left but forgot to take their dogs.
“Good riddance we say. These people should not be living in our area they don’t deserve to be part of our community.”
How do you move and leave your animals behind?”
“All the dogs collected from the individual homes have been without food for more than three weeks…”
How does the animal rescue organisation know this? The neighbours told the SPCA when the residents left.
“Three weeks… the cruelty and no thought for a living being just kills us.”
These dogs were so starving and appreciative of the bowls of food that they got when we got back to the SPCA it brought tears to our eyes.”
Well worth the trips that took us to the outskirts of the Vaal, our entire day spent travelling on the road.”
After the dogs were rescued the SPCA ensured that they slept in warm, fluffy beds. They have been treated for fleas and ticks and they have full tummies.”
Please, we beg of you – when you see your neighbours moving away make sure they have taken all their “belongings” even their animals. Maybe just have a peek over the wall and make sure everybody has left the premises. Also, if you don’t want your animals anymore remember we DO! Bring them to us, we never say no.”
You cannot build your happiness on the unhappiness that you leave behind. Life has a funny way of correcting the wrongs that you sow along the way… don’t open that door. Bring us your unwanted and unloved animals. We have big hearts.”
