Vaal dancers among the world’s best
The dancers from Georgina's Dance Studio did great in Portugal.
VAAL PARK. – The dancers of Georgina’s Dance Studio have reason to smile broadly and be super proud.

They recently excelled at the World Dance Championships in Braga, Portugal.
The championships took place from 30 June to 7 July. More than 7,500 dancers from 50 countries participated.
The brightest star among the Vaal Triangles was Cebisile Banda who achieved an excellent 95.4% with her Spanish dance solo, “Orabroy”.
With that, she was also crowned winner in the Junior National and Folklore Dance Solo section.

The dance group consisting of Cebisile Banda, Chantelle Oosthuizen, Jana Jacobs, Stephanie Vey and Suzenke Saayman won an overall fifth place with their dance, Farruca in the Senior Small Group National and Folklore section.
The very Cebisile and Stephanie Vey also reached the top ten with their Spanish dance duet.
Georgina Jacobs says she is very proud of every dancer. All performed excellently and finished with marks above 82.3%.
In addition to the Spanish dances, the ballet and contemporary dancers also performed excellently and all achieved distinctions.
The group that qualified for the world championships was Anzel Hamman, Cebisile Banda, Chantelle Oosthuizen, Jacqueline Moolman, Jana Jacobs, Kiara Raubenheimer, Lisa Oosthuizen, Miné Fourie, Nombulelo Masike, Shané van der Walt and Stephanie Vey.
The dancers had already set their sights on qualifying for the championships last year and then already jumped in and collected funds themselves to be able to go.
One cannot help but take off one’s hat for their dedication, discipline and hard work.
