Homeless shelter burns down
An abandoned house in Kowie Street, Three Rivers that offers shelter to eight homeless people was destroyed when a fire broke out on Sunday evening.
VEREENIGING. – According to Agreement Mofokeng (26), one of the residents, the fire started around 18:00.

No one was injured in the incident.
Residents of this commune for the homeless told Vaalweekblad that they suspect that the building was intentionally set on fire because of a dispute between two of the residents.
The Emfuleni fire brigade was called to the scene, but reportedly struggled as the fire hydrants were full of mud.
