Crime reduction operation conducted

The operation was conducted in Midvaal.

MIDVAAL. – Members of the Midvaal Intervention Team (CPF) joined Meyerton SAPS, Afriguard, ADT, The Beast Security, Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens and Community Patrollers in a crime reduction operation initiated by the South African Police Service.

Patrols, roadblocks and information driven operations were conducted across Midvaal and various successes were attained such as arrests, drugs seized and crime prevented in hotspot areas.

Other stations in the Sedibeng district sent SAPS members to take part in the operation.

Kobus Hoffman, a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature also joined the operation in his oversight capacity.

Rudolph de Wet, local CPF chairman, said: “I would like to encourage the community to please use our whatsapp number: 071 882 5621 to send anonymous crime tip offs and information that we can operationalise together with Meyerton SAPS and other stake holders to curb crime.”
