MIDVAAL. – The rolling hills of Walkerville came alive with the sound of bicycles slicing through the air during the Gauteng Provincial Road and Time Trial Championships, which took place at the Aloe Ridge Primary School in Walkerville on the 20th and 21st of January.
Brandon Downes and Lucy Young won the elite time trials titles for men and women respectively, while Morné van Niekerk and Carla Oberholzer were crowned the Gauteng Road Champions of 2024, after winning the races for elite men and women.
More cycling action is expected during Cycling South Africa’s National Road and Time Trial Championships, which will be held at Café du Cirque in Springbok Road, Randvaal from 31st January to 4th February.
