Vereeniging crash leaves baby dead, several injured

Baby killed and multiple injured after a vehicle hit a cyclist and then veered off the road in Vereeniging

VEREENIGING .- A baby boy has died and several people injured following a collision on the corner of Rhodes and Union Street, Vereeniging.

Cert SA paramedics as well as other services attended to the accident at around 19:45 on Saturday night, March 09.

“Upon arrival, we found a vehicle that had hit a cyclist and then veered off the road, hitting a light pole and almost ending up in a car dealership.”

There was a total of five patients on scene, of which one was a baby.

All patients were assessed and treated on scene.

According to Cert SA one patient sustained serious injuries while three others sustained moderate injuries.

“Unfortunately, the baby passed due to the extent of his injuries and was declared dead on scene.

All patients were loaded into various ambulances and transported to nearby facilities.”
