Sedibeng Netball League resumes

"Netball is fast growing with young talented players but just needs more sponsors to support."

SEBOKENG.- The Sedibeng Netball League started at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14, Sebokeng over the weekend.

The league saw the u/15, u/19, open females, males, and mixed divisions competing against each other throughout the day. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Sedibeng Netball Federation’s, Fakazile Nketsing said that she was overwhelmed by the talent displayed on the day.  However, her concern is the lack of sponsorship to support this league and individual clubs.

Nketsing feels that netball seems to be neglected when it comes to financial assistance by big companies. She further said that they had fifteen teams from Emfuleni and five from Midvaal.

“Netball is fast growing with young talented players but just needs more sponsors to support. This is our biggest challenge and it is frustrating especially when our regional teams are supposed to go and compete at the provincial and national championships. It is the same old story every year where our athletes have to be all over to raise money because we don’t have sponsors,” said Nketsing.
