Coach Johan Abselon shares his knowledge at Flair Feet Stars

On behalf of his teammates, Flair Feet Stars FC captain Michael Ferreira expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to learn from Abselon, and said that they felt more confident and motivated after the session.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Johan Abselon, the goalkeeper coach for the Moroka Swallows FC , recently visited Flair Feet Stars FC as a guest coach at their home ground in Curro Vanderbijlpark.

He was accompanied by a strength conditioning trainer, and together they shared their knowledge and expertise with the young footballer.

Abselon is well-known in the football community for his coaching skills, having spent several years coaching at various levels before joining the Moroka Swallows FC.  He has worked with Premier Soccer League teams including AmaZulu FC and  Sekhukhune United FC among others.

Addressing the players, Abselon stressed the importance of balancing their passion for soccer with their academic pursuits and reminded the players that while soccer is an exciting and rewarding sport, it is important to focus on their education.

Furthermore, Abselon emphasized the importance of discipline and respect for authority figures such as parents and teachers.

“I urge you to be exemplary role models for other kids, both on and off the field. This means demonstrating good sportsmanship, showing kindness to others, and striving for excellence in all aspects of your lives,” he said adding that he was honoured to be part of the event.

He said that as a coach he found it incredibly rewarding to see young players discover their love for soccer.

“It’s amazing to witness the transformation that can happen when they start to develop their skills and realise what they’re capable of accomplishing on the field. I believe that soccer can teach valuable life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. And when players are having fun while learning these things, it makes for a truly fulfilling experience,” he said.

Flair Feet Stars head coach, Coach Nnamndi John said Abselon’s visit  was a valuable experience for the players.  He said the club was excited to expose its players to celebrated players and top coaches so that they could aspire to be on top like them.

“It is always a great feeling to see young players leave a training session with a renewed sense of motivation and eagerness to apply what they have learned. We believe that it’s essential to expose our players to successful players and coaches like coach Abselon who have made a name for themselves in the sport. By doing so, we hope to inspire our players to work hard and strive to achieve their goals,” said coach John.

The players left the event feeling inspired and motivated to pursue their dreams, both on and off the soccer field.

“We all had a great time and Coach Abselon left us feeling like superstars, inspired and energized, and we are excited to put our new skills and knowledge to the test on the field,” said Ferreira.
