VIDEO: Raw sewage continues to flow into Vaal River

This comes despite recent interventions by Rand Water.

VEREENIGING. – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has again raised concern over a tributaries of raw sewage flowing straight into the Vaal and Klip Rivers along Golf Street in Peacehaven.

This comes despite recent interventions by Rand Water to put an end to the problem.

In a video posted on social media, Dennis Ryder, the DA’s chair in the Vaal region, points out that a stream of raw sewage is flowing straight into the Klip River via a trench that has been dug next to Golf Road.

The raw sewage seems to emanate from a nearby pump station near the Klip River, that despite work recently done by Rand Water, continues to cause problems.

Further down Golf Road is another stream of raw sewage flowing freely via a trench that had been dug near Pump Station #9 that had also received a revamp recently.

The raw sewage flows undetected by passers into a small tributary that flows across golf street, onto the golf course’s water hazard system and straight into the Vaal River,” Ryder explains in the video.
