Attempted robbery and murder at Zone 11 U-SAVE

"When he reached the stop sign, he was blocked by a white BMW, but he didn't stop."

SEBOKENG.-  The alertness of a Fidelity truck driver helped avoid a Cash-In-Transit (CIT) robbery at the Zone 11 U-SAVE in Sebokeng on Monday afternoon.

Police Provincial Spokesperson, Colonel Mavela Masondo said that the victim was driving a cash solution fidelity truck to collect cash from U-SAVE in Zone 11 Sebokeng when he stopped the truck next to the door, and his crew got off.

Suddenly, he heard shots being fired toward the truck.

“He quickly reversed and drove off. When he reached the stop sign, he was blocked by a white BMW, but he didn’t stop. He drove until Golden Gardens outside Sebokeng and saw that the BMW was nowhere to be seen. He phoned the company and drove back to the scene, and that is where he noticed that his crew (colleague) was shot in the left upper arm and he was rushed to the nearest hospital.”

Masondo adds that no cash was taken and that police have opened a case of attempted cash-in-transit robbery and attempted murder.
