Local coaches attended coaching workshop

"Everyone was eager to learn and I was really overwhelmed by their determination to learn about coaching.”

SEBOKENG.-  Sixteen development coaches attended a coaching workshop hosted by Cathsseta in conjunction with Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14, Sebokeng recently.

The workshop was attended by both men and women development coaches under the age of 35 from the following local football associations, Lesedi, Midvaal with majority coming from Emfuleni.

The workshop was conducted by Greg Mshilo and he hailed it as a great success.

He told Sedibeng Ster that the aim of this workshop was to empower the development coaches from the poor of the poorest communities. Mashilo said this is part of Cathsseta’s mission to educate coaches throughout the country.

“I want to thank Emfuleni Local Football Association leadership for making sure this workshop became a success. I was very happy to see female coaches coming in numbers, and this tells you something about the need of having more of them in our football. Everyone was eager to learn and I was really overwhelmed by their determination to learn about coaching,” said Mashilo.

ELFA Head of Technical, Tsimo Motsepe said this was a great initiative for the development of football in the Emfuleni. He believes this workshop came at the right time when the development coaches needed it most.
