Sakhisizwe Day Care children enlightened on safety tips

Constable De Huis stated that Social Crime Prevention educated the community members about substance abuse, Gander-Based Violence (GBV), and that security tips and the pamphlets were distributed.

SEDIBENG.- The Vaal Marina SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit Coordinator visited Sakhisizwe Day Care to inculcate the children and teach about hygiene, children’s rights, bullying, discipline and respect in Vaal Marina recently.

The unit then proceeded to the Fire & Rescue and Working on Fire station to gather information about Fire safety tips since it is the season where community members are using candles, wood, gas cylinder and many more, daily in their households. Police spokesperson, Constable Tshilidzi De Huis, stated that Social Crime Prevention educated the community members about substance abuse, Gander-Based Violence (GBV), and that security tips and the pamphlets were distributed.

“At about 55 kids were reached at creche, 25 people reached at Fire & Rescue. Children’s rights pamphlets were distributed and SAPS were given Fire Safety tips pamphlets from Fire & Rescue to distribute to the community.”
