Winter Soup Drive Crime Awareness campaign

The aim of the event was to educate the community members about GBV.

SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng SAPS’ Victim Friendly Facility (VFF), Social Crime, CPF, alongside Indibano, Correctional Services and Toughest Young Minds hosted a Winter Soup Drive Crime Awareness campaign near Boitumelo Clinic in Sebokeng on Thursday.

The aim of the event was to educate the community members about GBV, substance abuse and bullying while they were being served with soup. Sergeant Maria Molefi educated the young people about the dangers of bullying and informed them that the police will assist them in any way possible. The community members were advised to report any form of GBV and other crimes affecting the community.

Lindiwe Ntsume and Mummy Lesotho assisted in making this day a success by cooking the soup with Sergeant Mokhachane and Sergeant Sompane. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the project will continue until August, thereafter a ‘Summer drive’ will be introduced.
