A search for a missing person discovers foetus

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) confirmed on the scene that it is a human foetus, but the gender was not disclosed.

SEBOKENG. – The Sebokeng SAPS and K9 Unit search and rescue team discovered a foetus in a stream while searching for the body of a missing person outside Boitumelo, Sebokeng yesterday.

A case of concealment of birth has been opened and is being investigated by the police after a foetus was found in the stream while busy searching for the body of Lucky Mantsoe following a tip-off. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that Mantsoe was reported missing last month and a tip-off about his body’s whereabouts led the police to search for him in the stream when they found a foetus in its placenta.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) confirmed, on the scene that it is a human foetus, but the gender was not disclosed. The foetus was taken to Sebokeng Government Mortuary for further investigation.

“Lieutenant-Colonel Tholo who is investigating the case of a missing person (Lucky Mantsoe) was shocked at the discovery since adult clothing was also found at the scene. The police are continuing to search for Lucky and accept any lead in finding him,” Mokhachane said.

Adult clothing was also found at the scene.
