DALESIDE. – Local cyclists battled it out in a vigorous race against the clock at the 4th meeting of the 2024 Albion Wheelers Time Trial Series. This event was hosted by the Albion Wheelers Cycling Club on June 22.
The race saw riders take on a 25.3km out-and-back route, starting at Café du Cirque going up to Drumblade and back again. The 2024 Gauteng Time Trial Champion, Brandon Downes of Team TEG Pro Cycling, had the overall fastest time on the day, completing the course in 35:27:00.
Lucy Young of Team Customized Pirtek was the fastest lady, completing the time trial in 37:44:30.
The event offers entertainment to elite cyclists, competitive cyclists, social riders and beginners.
The final individual time trial of the 2024 Albion Wheelers Time Trial Series will take place on July 6 at Café du Cirque.
Registration takes place from 13:00 to 13:45 and the first rider will start at 14:00 sharp. The entry fee is R60 (cash).
