Pedestrian safety campaign launched in Meyerton

The initiative aims to tackle pedestrian safety issues following the increase of accidents reported on the R59.

The police in Meyerton in conjunction with community safety and traffic teams recently launched the #yourlifematters campaign. The initiative aims to tackle pedestrian safety issues following the increase of accidents reported on the R59.
The campaign included educating pedestrians on how to avoid using earpieces when walking and staying away from alcohol consumption while using overhead bridges. About 600 information pamphlets were distributed as a way of making members of the community aware about safety measures.
