Dyonase elected DA caucus Leader for SDM

“Our Caucus is going to need to raise concerns, perform oversight and serve the people of Sedibeng in a way in which our presence is felt in council."

SEDIBENG.- The DA held its caucus executive election meeting recently for the Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) where Sibusiso Dyonase was elected as the Caucus Leader.

Dyonase has a track record in political and public service, having previously served as a deputy chairperson for training and development of DA youth Vaal region, deputy chairperson for Sedibeng District Municipality DA caucus, and currently as PR Councillor directly elected to SDM.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the delighted Dyonase said that in the environment in which other opposition parties has moved into a coalition led by the ANC, the role of the opposition is in jeopardy against the context of an ANC that has a track record in corruption and wasteful, fruitless and irregular expenditures.

“This is why the DA has a vital role to play as the rational centre of the opposition and this is why my experience and leadership will be vital to the DA Sedibeng District Municipality caucus.”

In his address to the caucus after his election, he said: “Our Caucus is going to need to raise concerns, perform oversight and serve the people of Sedibeng in a way in which our presence is felt in council. We will set ourselves apart by being a constructive opposition, ensuring that in every decision and vote we represent the best interests of our community. Our party stood on a clear platform in this election and we must now give expression to our commitments through this important footprint we have gained in local politics.”
