Is this a money-making scheme?

This is not an attack on anybody or ELFA but as the bible says, “The truth shall set us free”.

SEDIBENG.- Zakes’ Sports Corner thinks that these coaching courses organised by the Emfuleni Local Football Association don’t benefit local development coaches.

For example, there are no local coaches who attended the CAF C License first phase for obvious reasons. They cannot afford to pay R6500 because most of them are unemployed. We all know the situation of the local development coaches but the Emfuleni Local Football Association seems to not care who they educate.

This is not an attack on anybody or ELFA but as the bible says, “The truth shall set us free”.

This is the truth about our local development coaches. There is no way they can afford to pay that amount taking into consideration their situation. These courses just benefit outsiders or people who have nothing to do with football.

Zakes’ Sports Corner once said this: Even taxi drivers have coaching qualifications because they can afford to pay it. But what about the people who are committed to the development of our football at the grassroots level who can’t afford to pay? ELFA must tell us if this is a money-making scheme. This has been happening for too long. ELFA is educating the wrong people. There is no way you can expect grassroots coaches to pay R6 500.

That is a salary for someone!

Zakes’ Sports Corner feels sorry for those coaches who want to further their coaching knowledge but can’t because of the amount they are supposed to pay. How did our football end up here? As the LFA, ELFA should know better.

They must get sponsorship!

Now this will be like an attack on them because this is what they always say whenever Zakes’ Sport Corner raises concern about matters such as this. Zakes’ Sports Corner brought up this matter with ELFA’s Head of Development, Master Zondo. He also agreed with Zakes’ Sports Corner about this.  He told Zakes’ Sports Corner that he was also not happy to see no local coaches in the class. Zakes’ Sports Corner believes there is so much that needs to be done to correct this situation.

ELFA and the South African Football Association (SAFA) in Sedibeng are responsible for this situation. They can do better than give education to people who will never benefit our football.
