“Our detectives worked tirelessly over four months to gather witness statements and solidify the connections for these specific cases.”

EVATON.- The Evaton police have arrested a man believed to be a serial rapist that has allegedly been committing rape crimes since 2019.

Last Wednesday Evaton Detectives made a significant breakthrough in a series of rape cases, apprehending a 31-year-old man on Dona Road. According to Evaton Police spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi, the suspect has been connected to multiple rape cases spanning from 2019 to 2023. The arrest was made possible through DNA evidence, linking him to various incidents.

“Our detectives worked tirelessly over four months to gather witness statements and solidify the connections for these specific cases,” Msibi stated.

The suspect reportedly offered cash to some victims in exchange for their silence and attempted to intimidate others by boasting about his history of assaults, claiming nothing would be done to stop him. The police commend the courage of the victims who came forward and expressed their commitment to ensuring justice will be served.
