Vaal Industrial League comes to the end

The winners had an incredible season, collecting points like it was going out of fashion in each and every game they played.

SEDIBENG.- The 2024 Vaal Industrial League just finished with GP Auto being crowned the league champions.

The winners had an incredible season, collecting points like it was going out of fashion in each and every game they played. They hold the record of the only team in the league that was unbeaten for the whole season. Dixon Batteries surprised many when they finished in second place on the log while Nampak finished third. The defending champions, Man Energy, had a disappointing season finishing fourth while Rand Water finished in fifth place.

MIRAZ Construction who won a treble in 2022 also had a terrible season finishing in sixth position. A giant has fallen considering they were one of the best teams in the league.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Vaal Industrial chairperson Peter Gololo applauded the teams for their commitment. Gololo said he hopes to see more teams joining the league next season and sponsors coming on board to make it one of the best.

“When we formed this Industrial League we wanted to see workers making friends in the field of play. This league is unique and I’m happy that after all these years we are still going strong. We appeal to companies and businesses to come on board to sponsor this initiative. We want to make this league one of the best and urge companies to be part of it,” said Gololo.
