Do you want Zakes’ Sports Corner to repeat it?

It is what they are!

Not long ago Zakes’ Sports Corner ran an article about the Emfuleni Development League with some streams claiming some of their results were not captured by their coordinators. However, in a turn of events, they denied this to the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) Head of Development, Master Zondo. The question is, who is fooling who? This, however, is nothing new – people would say this and then deny saying it and state that they have been misquoted.

Things will not change as long as we have these double standards. People say this today and tomorrow they say the opposite. As the media, we are not friends of anyone, our job is to report things as they are, without fear or favour. We have to speak on behalf of those voiceless. The problem within our football is that those whose results are captured in their favour won’t complain, even though they didn’t deserve to be the winners. We all know that capturing results at streams level is a problem.

The Champ of Champs Play-offs were played as if nothing happened. The problem with the teams’ owners is they are afraid to directly confront matters. They would rather say they were misquoted when the media exposes the truth.

Sick!

Just imagine, when everyone thinks they are left with games to play and teams receive correspondence that the league is over with an incorrect final log standing. Zakes’ Sports Corner has been told this happens every season even though Zondo denied this. I don’t blame him. Every person must protect his or her department, even if it is wrong to do so. We can’t mention names just because we report about certain things. There is no way Zakes’ Sports Corner can be silenced for exposing the wrong things happening in local football.

As things stand now, all the LFAs are non-functioning, including their mother body SAFA Sedibeng. Sedibeng football is like a graveyard!
