This tournament was meant to keep and bring the youth of Orange Farm together.

ORANGE FARM.-  Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, hosted  a soccer tournament known as Azania Soccer Tournament in Ext 1 recently.

The participating teams didn’t pay affiliation to be part of the tournament that started on December 18 with 32 soccer senior teams and was played on a knockout system.

“This was the seventh year Dr Ndlozi hosts this tournament. We all know at this time of the year young people are scattered, so the aim of tournament was to keep them together at a soccer ground the whole day. Look, even families spent the whole day watching the games. It is like a picnic with people bringing their camp chairs. As the Orange Farm community, we want to thank Dr Ndlozi for this unique initiative. Our youth are in safe hands with people like him in our community,” said Mnisi.

The finals of the tournament were scheduled for yesterday, December 30.

Meanwhile, the popular Festive Soccer Tournament also came to an end at the Pooe soccer ground yesterday. COVID-19 FC were crowned the Pooe Festive Tournament champions after they beat Vaal Juventus FC 4-2 on penalties.
