Four injured in Vaal Marina truck accident

Four Midvaal employees were transported to the hospital for medical attention as they had suffered injuries.

SEDIBENG.- The Vaal Marina police have urged motorists to be vigilant and adhere to the rules of the road, particularly during this rainy season after a Midvaal garbage truck capsized.

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), the driver lost control of the vehicle on the corner of R54 and Anchovy Road in Vaal Marina.

Police spokesperson Constable Tshilidzi de Huis said emergency personnel were called to the scene and four Midvaal employees were transported to the hospital for medical attention as they had suffered injuries.

“Drivers please be responsible on the road and take all road precautions. Stop driving fast and adhere to every road sign and condition. Motorists, cyclists, public transport drivers, truck drivers, or motorbikes have the same responsibility and obligation to use the road responsibly and obey all the rules and signs of the road,” said De Huis.

A case of reckless and negligent driving is being investigated.
